How SE Ranking counts your keywords
SE Ranking counts targets, not keywords: keyword × search engine. Google desktop and Google mobile are separate engines, and each tracked location counts again.
- 500 keywords on Google desktop only = 500 targets → Core.
- 1,000 keywords on desktop + mobile = 2,000 targets → Core, exactly at the limit.
- 1,000 keywords on desktop + mobile in 2 cities = 4,000 targets → Growth.
- 2,000 keywords on Google + Bing, desktop only = 4,000 targets → Growth.
Old plans you may still see: Essential, Pro, Business
Many articles still list SE Ranking's older Essential, Pro and Business plans. SE Ranking replaced them with Core, Growth and Enterprise. If a review quotes a price for "Essential" or "Business", it is describing a plan new customers can no longer buy.

Annual billing takes 20% off: Core drops to $103.20/mo and Growth to $223.20/mo, paid up front for the year. There is a 14-day free trial, so you can check whether your keyword count fits before choosing.
